The head of Israel’s Association of Public Health Physicians is urging the United Nations to ensure that Israeli hostages in Gaza are included in an upcoming polio vaccination campaign.
In a letter addressed to the directors of the World Health Organization and UNICEF, Dr. Hagai Levine points out that among the hostages are two young brothers, Kfir Bibas, 1, and Ariel Bibas, 5. He also highlights that many of the adult hostages are overdue for booster shots.
“Given their vulnerable situation and the lack of essential vaccinations, the hostages are at significant risk,” Levine, who also leads the health division for the Hostage Families Forum, stated in the letter.
