US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and mediators continue to work at closing the gaps between Israel and Hamas in the hostage-ceasefire agreement.
The US confirmed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted the updated version of the deal and has held Hamas responsible for holding up the agreement with their recent rejection.
However, there are reports that Israeli delegates have criticized Netanyahu for inflexibility in his demands which Hamas claim were added to the newest version of the deal and is the primary reason the terror group won’t accept it.
Another report said that Netanyahu has talked to his Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, to persuade him to accept the newest deal.
Netanyahu has also been criticized for apparent contradictory statements, seeming to agree to the deal on one hand and then claiming that the deal had little chance of success when addressing hawkish hostage families, adding that he refUuses to budge from the condition that IDF remains in the Philadelphi corridor.
