A Palestinian was indicted for the murder of a prison service worker Yochai Avni, last month.
Because there didn’t seem to be a nationalistic motive behind the killing, police and Shin Bet categorized it as murder rather than terrorism.
The suspect is Ibrahim Mansour, 22, from the town of Bidu.
Avni, a 40-year-old dog handler, was found dead in his home following a fire in his home in Givon Hahadasha, a settlement outside of Jerusalem.
After an investigation, it was discovered that Mansour broke into Avni’s home and when he awoke, the two fought, with Mansour stabbing Avni multiple times and then setting the house on fire.
