3 UNFIL personnel were lightly injured during an Israeli airstrike in the Southern Lebanon city of Yarine.
The personnel have returned to their base, and a probe has been launched to investigate the incident.
UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti notes that the workers were in a vehicle that was clearly marked.
According to its website, UNFIL is committed to peacekeeping operations and ensuring humanitarian access to civilian populations.
The organization was founded in 1978 to oversee Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon and to assist the Lebanese government in restoring order in the region.
