PA’s Abbas to address Turkey’s Parliament

After visiting with Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Palestinian Authority head Mahmoud Abbas will address Turkey’s Parliament in Ankara, as reported in the Palestinian Press.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will be in attendance.

Abbas is seeking the support of Russia and Turkey to bring an end to the war in Gaza and shore up alliances.

Abbas has also insisted that Russia be involved in the Middle East Peace process.

Both Putin and Erdogan have had harsh words for Israel, with the Turkish president threatening to invade Israel last month to put an end to the Gaza War.

He also declared Hamas Head Ismail Haniyeh a martyr and declared a day of mourning after his assassination in Tehran.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry strongly criticized the Turkish embassy in Tel Aviv for lowering their flags to half-mast following Haniyeh’s death.
