On Tuesday, Hamas attempted to fire rockets at Israel, with one falling into the ocean and the other failing to leave Gaza.
The rockets were fired from makeshift rocket launchers rather than standard launchers, many of which have been seized by the IDF.
One of the rockets aimed at Tel Aviv landed in the ocean, where it exploded, creating a loud boom sound but causing no injuries.
The other rocket did not arrive in Israel and exploded in Gaza.
The attack is consistent with an IDF assessment that while Hamas within Gaza is still capable of launching missiles, their ability to make effective strikes within Israel is limited given the lack of sophisticated equipment after the IDF’s repeated destruction of Hamas’s infrastructure.
