With increasing demand for mental health services, given the pressures and trauma resulting from ten months of war, The Health, Finance, and Education Ministries, together with the Histadrut have agreed to raise the salaries of public psychologists by 40%.
The initiative is intended to attract more psychologists in Israel from private practice to the public sector to make their services available in hospitals, schools, the military and government offices.
Starting in 2025, interns will earn 11,000 shekels per month, experts will earn 13,000 shekels, supervisory psychologists will earn 15,000 shekels, and senior supervisors will receive 17,000 shekels per month.
