Maya Regev, captured from the Nova Festival on October 7th and released in November, has taken her first steps since her injury.

Maya Regev (21) and her brother Itay (19) were both shot in the legs trying to escape from Hamas terrorists.

Both she and Itay were released among 105 hostages in November.

Maya Regev was neglected while she was a captive and suffered many untreated infections, along with fungus growing in her bone.

She reported that doctors intentionally caused her pain by putting vinegar and bleach inside her wound and pressing on it.

Maya Regev said she hoped to walk again and wrote on X, “I’ve been through a lot with this leg. Lots of surgeries, lots of complications, and especially lots of frustration.”

“At one stage, I didn’t believe it would happen, and I almost gave up, but it happened. I successfully took my first steps, and I’m proud of myself for the path I’ve taken, and am still on. I’m proud of myself, I did it,” she wrote
