The Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists fired 20 missiles into southern Israel on Monday in response to the IDF operations in Gaza.
The Iran-backed Islamic Jihad terrorist organization shot rockets close to Israeli communities close to the border with Gaza.
There were no reported injuries.
The terror group claimed that it was firing the missiles in response to alleged “crimes of the Zionist enemy against our Palestinian people.”
Since last Thursday, the IDF has stepped up operations in Shejaiya suburb in eastern Gaza City in addition to its ongoing mission to destroy the last Hamas battalions in Rafah in southern Gaza.
The IDF reported that it eliminated dozens of terrorists in Shejaiya and discovered rocket launchers, weapons and ammunition.
Over the weekend, two IDF soldiers were killed and three were wounded during operations in Shejaiya.
