After Hezbollah fired 20 to 30 rockets into Meron, setting wildfires, residents of Israel’s north demanded action against Lebanon.
One family told Maariv, “”We were abandoned, I have no other words. While we are sitting like ducks in a shooting range, Netanyahu is trying to promote an agreement that will cause us more years of suffering.”
Rita Ben Yair, an evacuee from the north who is head of an advocacy group for evacuees told the Jerusalem Post, “The time has come to change the equation, get out of the fixed patterns, and exact a price from the state of Lebanon.”
She added, “It is not possible that our houses are burning and under such a threat and Lebanon is not burning. It’s time to win this war and give peace for decades to come. We will not return with a surrender agreement.”
