Iran Threatens War of ‘Obliteration’ if Israel Attacks Lebanon

As military activity escalates on the border between Israel and Lebanon, the rhetoric between the two countries is also heating up.

Iran’s mission to the UN initially dismissed Israel’s discussion of a conflict as “psychological warfare” but added that if Israel should send troops to Lebanon, it would face a “war of obliteration.”

Iran added that in such a war, “all options would be on the table.”

Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz responded, “If Hezbollah does not cease its fire and withdraw from southern Lebanon, we will act against it with full force until security is restored and residents can return to their homes.”
