A suicide drone launched by the Houthis left one man dead and 10 wounded in Tel Aviv on Friday.
The attack occurred at 3:12 am on Ben Yehuda Street in Tel Aviv, close to the US Embassy.
The ten people who were wounded suffered shrapnel injuries and burns.
Although Israel’s air force detected the UAV, it didn’t classify it as hostile and therefore, there was no interception.
IDF stated, “This is a bad incident that should not have occurred and the Air Force takes full responsibility as the protector of the country’s skies.”
Iran-backed Houthis took responsibility for the attack and claimed they had developed a new type of drone called the “Yaffa” that could breach Israel’s security.
In retaliation, Israel launched strikes against Yemen’s military targets on Saturday.
