On Friday, the Israel Defense Forces concluded a three-week operation in the southern Gaza Strip. During this period, the military reported demolishing tunnels, killing over 250 terrorists, and recovering the bodies of six hostages.
The operation, which targeted Khan Younis and the outskirts of Deir al-Balah, was launched by the 98th Division in early August. The division withdrew from Gaza early Friday to prepare for future operations.
This marked the third reentry of the IDF into Khan Younis since its initial ground offensive earlier this year. The latest efforts focused on recovering hostages’ bodies and dismantling Hamas infrastructure based on new intelligence.
