Earlier today (Thursday), a convoy of humanitarian aid vehicles from the organization UNRWA entered the South Rafah area. During the journey, armed individuals seized a jeep at the front of the convoy and began leading it.
Once it was confirmed that only the vehicle occupied by the armed men was at risk, an attack was carried out against them. This action ensured that the other vehicles in the convoy remained undamaged and reached their destination as planned. The attack successfully neutralized the threat to the humanitarian convoy.
Following the incident, representatives from Matafash contacted UNRWA officials, who confirmed that all members of the organization and their humanitarian aid were unharmed and had arrived safely.
It is crucial to note that the presence of armed men within a humanitarian convoy without proper coordination violates procedures, complicates the security of convoys and their personnel, and undermines humanitarian efforts in Gaza.
