Scottish Government Will No Longer Meet with Israeli Officials

The Scottish government announced it will no longer meet with Israeli officials until Israel makes “real progress towards peace.”

Scottish External Affairs Secretary apologized for meeting with Israel’s envoy Daniela Grudsky.

The meeting was supposed to be about antisemitism. Still, Robertson said he felt the need to address the Scottish position that Israel should accept an immediate ceasefire in its war with Gaza.

Robertson then released a statement saying that the Scottish government would not meet with Israeli officials again “until such time as real progress has been made towards peace, unimpeded access to humanitarian assistance is provided and Israel cooperates fully with its international obligations on the investigation of genocide and war crimes.”

In addition, Robertson called for an end to the shipment of arms to Israel an the immediate implementation of a two-state solution.
