Sounds of gunfire were heard at the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo on Sunday as a crocodile attacked a zookeeper in an enclosure.
When the crocodile began biting the zookeeper, a security guard opened fire, saving the worker’s life.
The 45-year-old male worker was taken to the hospital with moderate to severe injuries.
It isn’t known whether the gunshots killed the crocodile.
Jerusalem police are investigating the incident.
