Hamas claims that a guard who killed one male hostage and wounded two female captives was motivated by revenge and that his actions are contrary to the terror group’s protocol.
The IDF was unable to confirm or disprove the claims that a Hamas guard shot and killed a hostage and wounded others.
Hudhaifa Kahlout — known as Abu Obeida — the spokesman for the Al Qassam Brigades, wrote on Telegram that the guard “acted in revenge, contrary to instructions, after receiving news of the martyrdom of his two children in one of the enemy’s massacres.”
“We stress that the incident does not represent our ethics,” he said.
Obeida said that the protocols for guarding captives “will be tightened.”
