An 11-year-old girl was was seriously wounded by a Hezbollah rocket that exploded at a soccer game in the Golan Heights community of Majdal Shams on July 28 has regained consciousness.
The rocket killed 12 young people, wounded dozens of others, and of those injured, , Kai Marai’s condition was considered among the most severe.
The progress of her recovery “even surprised doctors” according to sources and now she is categorized as moderately wounded.
She lost consciousness on the day of the attack when shrapnel hit her head.
Her mother, Haifa Marai, says the event was difficult for her, not only because of her daughter’s injury, but “I am a teacher at the school in Majdal Shams, and I teach in a class where many of my students were killed in the disaster.”
She added, “I thank the medical team that saved my daughter’s life, who now faces a long rehabilitation, and I thank all the citizens of Israel who supported, helped, and prayed for the recovery of the children.”
