While many airlines have stopped flights to Israel amid the current security situation, Ethiopian Airlines has resumed flights to Tel Aviv, Israel HaYom reports.
Not long after Iran issued threats of a “severe response” for the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, and Hezbollah echoed this warning, airlines stopped service to Israel.
Last week, Delta and United Airlines temporarily suspended their flights to Israel followed by Lufthansa, LOT Polish Airlines, and ITA Airways.
However, Ethiopian airlines announced it would take passengers to Tel Aviv and paused flights for only two days. It now offers direct flights from Addis Ababa to Ben-Gurion Airport.
Given the shutdowns, the number of travelers at Ben Gurion airport has dropped by 20%.
