Israeli companies and organizations are seeing an 81% rise in cyberattacks compared to levels before the war, as reported by Checkpoint.
The number of cybersecurity breaches per week for Israeli organizations and companies was 2,278 in the second quarter of 2024, 81% higher than in the corresponding quarter of 2023, and 33% higher than the first quarter of 2024.
Israeli companies are seeing 39% more cyberattacks than the global average.
Education and transportation are being hit hard by online attacks, and government and defense sites are seeing the rising incidence of ransomware. Ransomware happens when an attacker seizes the victim’s data and changes the codes while demanding money for the return of the data.
Approximately 1 out of 26 companies and organizations has experienced a ransomware attack since October 7th, which translates into 20% of Israeli companies.
