Presumptive Democratic nominee for President Kamala Harris told Palestinian activists that she was “open to” blocking weapons to Israel.
“Uncommitted” voters–those who voted “Uncommitted” in the Democratic primary to protest against Biden’s support for Israel — approached Harris during a campaign stop in Michigan and asked her if she was willing to consider an arms embargo against Israel, the New York Times reported.
The two activists, Abbas Alawieh and Layla Elabed said they “wanted to support her but… wanted her to consider an arms embargo.”
Harris responded that she was “open to it” and introduced the activists to her staff.
When asked about the incident, Harris said she was willing to “reaffirm that her campaign will continue to engage with those communities.”
During the event, anti-Israel activists in the audience chanted, “Kamala, Kamala, you can’t hide. We won’t vote for Genocide.”
