Sirens blared throughout Central Israel on Sunday as five rocket launches were detected coming from the Gaza Stip.
Sirens were heard in Bitzaron, Gan Yavne, Hatzor, Azrikam, Sde Uziyahu, and Shtulim.
Most of these rockets were intercepted, but one fell in Ashkelon, and noone was injured.
Although there are occasional rocket sirens in central and southern Israel, they are less frequent after the IDF has destroyed much of Hamas’s infrastructure.
Ashdod has opened public shelters “in accordance with an orderly work plan that was built over the last decade in the Ashdod municipality.”
