A Shin Bet worker and two others were charged with divulging state secrets.
A joint statement from the Shin Bet, Israel Police, and the State Attorney’s Office said that although the three people didn’t intentionally violate security by sharing the information, their violation was nevertheless a severe breach.
The statement said, “During an investigation, it was discovered that the worker divulged to unauthorized people confidential information that she was exposed to during her work, in complete contravention of a ban on doing so.”
It continued, “Passing on the information led to real danger to the lives of people and the security of the country.”
A gag order is placed on all others who know details of the case.
