Education Minister Yoav Kisch announced that students evacuated from northern communities will not be able to return to school in September.

Kisch cited “security complexities” caused by the ongoing drone and rocket attacks by Hezbollah that have been ongoing since October 7th.

The minister said the situation was “regrettable” and called on Prime Minister Netanyahu to “act now, strongly, against the state of Lebanon.”

“There is no escaping the decision to wage a massive war against Lebanon in order to restore peace and stability to the residents of the north and for the future of the State of Israel,” he said.

Since the beginning of the war, 60,000 Israelis have been evacuated from northern communities and given the intensity of Hezbollah strikes, there is no indication of when they can return to their homes.
