The IDF released a recording of two Gazans welcoming the death of Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif and hoping for the demise of Yahya Sinwar, the mastermind of the October 7th massacre.
They said that the death of Sinwar, who is thought to be hiding in Gaza tunnels, will end the war.
IDF Spokesperson for Arabic Media Avichay Adraee published the recordings on X, saying these are, “The authentic voices from Gaza testify to the feelings that the residents of the Strip have towards Hamas’ leaders and their hope that they will all be eliminated so that the war will end.”

After one speaker gives the news that Deif has been killed, the other responds, “God willing, they will also kill Sinwar. What will I do with them? Congratulations to them! If only we could rest–it’s enough already.”
The second caller also announced the news and the second listener welcomed it and said, “Soon this should happen to Sinwar, god-willing.”
Hamas officials have denied that Deif was killed although other sources indicate it is highly likely.
