High-ranking Democrats are telling US President Joe Biden that he should drop his re-election bid because his chances of beating Donald Trump seem slim.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and US House Democratic Leader Hakim Jeffries are convincing Biden to drop out of the race, according to CNN and ABC.

ABC reported that Schumer told Biden that he should leave the race for the good of the Democratic Party and the country.

Pelosi told Biden that polling indicates he can’t win, and this outcome could ruin the Democrats’ chances of winning back the House.

On Wednesday, Representative Adam Schiff became the 20th House Democrat to tell Biden to step down.

Biden’s poor and confused performance in the first Presidential debate created panic in the Democratic Party.

Since then, he has made consistent and severe gaffes in his appearances, including calling Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Putin, referring to himself as a black woman, and calling his Vice President Kamala Harris Donald Trump.

Although Biden may be experiencing faulty speech rather than mental confusion, many see signs of decline as severe and indicating that he can’t secure reelection or handle a second term.

Biden announced that he has been diagnosed with COVID and is resting in Maryland.
