The killing–or near killing- of the head of the Hamas military Mohammed Deif, may prove to be the beginning of the end of the Gaza war.
The news this weekend that Israel most likely killed the second in Hamas’s command, Mohammed Deif, may prove pivotal to Hamas’s defeat.
The fact that Hamas denies that Deif has been killed and is “fine” testifies to the huge blow his death would be to the terror group.
Deif trained with Sinwar as a youth and was primarily responsible for building Hamas from individual guerilla fighters to a terror army backed by Iran.
Most of all, Israel’s targeting Deif and most likely killing him is a signal to Yahya Sinwar that he is next.
