US Special Envoy Amos Hochstein is close to brokering a peace deal between Lebanon and Israel, according to the Lebanese al-Diyar newspaper.

Hochstein reported to French officials that Israel and Lebanon have come closer to an agreement that would end hostilities that began when Hezbollah fired rockets into Israel on October 8.

The remaining issue yet to be resolved is the agreement that Hezbollah should remain a certain distance from Israel and some disputed areas currently controlled by Israel.

In addition, the agreement keeps Hezbollah from erecting observation towers on the border with Israel.

However, currently, 7 of the 13 territorial disagreements have been resolved.

According to the report, Hezbollah has agreed on conditions on principle.
