In an interview on Lebanese television, leader of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, was critical of Hezbollah and indicated he wanted an end to the conflict with Israel.
He asked why Lebanon of all countries in the Arab League (excluding the Palestinians) has found itself in “the eye of the storm” and in daily conflict with Israel.
Geagea said, “I want to ask seriously as a Lebanese citizen and not the leader of a political party, where is the problem?”
“Why isn’t the Lebanese army in the same positions Hezbollah is now (on the border with Israel)?” he added.
“Hezbollah’s enterprise has nothing to do with Lebanon,” he said. “Read Hezbollah’s literature, and you will find it has nothing to do with Lebanon.”
