Hezbollah’s incessant bombardment of Israel’s northern border has destroyed thousands of dunams of woodland and has decimated forests.
Although the wildfires have made news only recently, they destroyed thousands of dunams even in the first weeks of the war.
Not only have these fires marred the beauty of the wooded areas in the north, , but has created an environmental crisis and are responsible for destroying plants, and animals and threatening delicate ecosystems.
However, Israeli foresters believe these wooded areas can be restored, although it will take several decades to return to their natural state.
Nonetheless, a decade may be enough to see the beginning phase of renewal.
