Israel to Require Travel Authorization from Visa-Exempt Countries

Starting on August 1st, Israel will require authorization from countries that do not need a visa to heighten security and detect those violating travel restrictions.

The new law includes travelers from the US who previously could arrive with only a passport and a suitcase.

Travelers will now be required to go through authorization 72 hours before scheduling flights or booking accommodations.

These regulations have been adopted recently in the US, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe.

There is also a moderate fee of 25NIS or $7 per application.
