A group of anti-Israel protesters breached security and stood on the roof of Australia’s Parliament House in Canberra, yelling slogans and unfurling banners.
Social media images showed protesters dressed in black and unfurling black banners with the familiar antisemitic slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”
Banners also included a red triangle, a violent symbol commonly used at protests to reference the way Hamas marks its Jewish targets.
One protester grabbed a megaphone and said, “We will not forget, we will not forgive and we will continue to resist.”
The protesters left without struggle escorted by police.
“This is a serious breach of the Parliament’s security,” opposition Home Affairs spokesperson James Paterson says in a post on X.
