Only 2 or 3 people are aware of where Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas mastermind of the October 7th massacre, is hiding, according to Saudi-owned media outlet Asharq Al-Awsat.
Only a few people know his whereabouts to keep his hiding place from being disclosed, and they are charged with providing for his day-to-day needs and giving him updates about the war in Gaza as well as ceasefire and hostage deal negotiations.
The report didn’t indicate whether Sinwar was above or below ground. Although it also said Israeli airstrikes wounded several Hamas leaders in Gaza, Sinwar is not one of them.
In May, US reports indicated that Sinwar was hiding in Khan Younis tunnels. In February, a video was publicized showing Sinwar walking through tunnels in Khan Younis along with other people, perhaps family members or hostages used as human shields.
