Democratic congressman Lloyd Doggett of Texas is the first politician in President Biden’s party to publicly urge him to drop out of the Presidential race after his disastrous performance last Thursday.
Although the New York Times and journalists from other media outlets such as MSNBC and CNN have encouraged Biden to step aside, Doggett is the first Democratic politician to do so.
On Tuesday, Doggett said Biden should “make the painful and difficult decision to withdraw.”
However, an official for Biden’s campaign responded on NBC, “He’s staying in.”
Last Thursday, Biden’s feeble voice, confused manner, stammering, and shocked facial expressions caused widespread panic among Democrats.
The First Lady Jill and son Hunter Biden are encouraging Joe Biden to stay in the Presidential race and face former President and presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.
