To address the recent shortage of doctors in Israel, a MedEx conference convened in France to encourage hundreds of physicians to emigrate to the Jewish State.
Four hundred fifty doctors and dentists from France and Belgium attended the conference. The organization aims to assist 1,200 physicians in making aliyah to Israel in the next five years.
MedEx program is a joint effort by the Ministry of Immigration and Absorption, the Ministry of Health, and the “Nefesh B’ Nefesh” organization, with the assistance of the Jewish Agency.
The conference addressed crucial issues such as the conversion of medical licenses and grants available for olim doctors to set up their practices in Israel or find employment in clinics and hospitals.
The war has exacerbated the already severe shortage of doctors in Israel. As of February, there were only 3.4 doctors per 1,000 people, less than the OECD average of 3.7.
