Liora Argamani, the mother of rescued hostage Noa Argamani, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 61 of a brain tumor.
Noa, who was kidnapped at the Nova music festival on October 7th, was rescued from Gaza during Operation Arnon and was reunited with her mother last month.
Liora tirelessly advocated for the release of the hostages and told the media, including CNN and US President Joe Biden that the release of the hostages should be top priority.
Liora released a video during which she said her greatest wish was “to see my daughter again before I leave the world…” and added that Noa “deserves to see her mother alive for the last time.”
Noa admitted that during her 8 months of captivity in Gaza, her main concern was for her parents and their welfare.
Mother and daughter were reunited the day Noa was rescued by IDF troops.
Although Liora was no longer able to speak because of her brain cancer which was in an advanced stage, family members reported they believed Liora was aware that her daughter had returned and was happy.
One source close to the family said, “There was great joy when she opened her eye. Plain and simple, she understood that her daughter had returned.”
